the incomplete truth (2017)

Damien Hirst’s 'The Incomplete Truth' offered initial inspiration for this series, in its presentation of a dove suspended mid-flight in a vitrine of formaldehyde. The dove, with its religious connotations, is intended to demonstrate that Truth cannot be found in absolutes but rather in dualities and the tension between them. The duality of the two-dimensional and the three-dimensional and the tension between the fragile and the diaphanous are explored in the work through hand-sewn ostrich feathers and multimodal embroideries.
